BURNABY FC TO JOIN LEAGUE1 BC IN 2024

February 7, 2024 – Burnaby FC is very excited to announce it has been awarded entry into League1 BC and will field Men’s and Women’s teams in the 2024 season after submitting a successful application to join the 8-team league which is part of League1 Canada.

“This is an incredible achievement for our Club and represents a milestone for soccer in Burnaby,” said Burnaby FC President Guido Titotto. “Joining League1 BC provides our players a continuous pathway across all levels of player development in our province and we cannot wait to provide them with League1 BC opportunities. We welcome the local soccer community to join us this Spring and Summer for what will be an important next chapter in the growth of our club and sport.”

The season runs from late April to early August with Burnaby FC L1 playing its homes games out of Burnaby Lake West in 2024. Each home game will be a doubleheader featuring both our Women’s and Men’s teams. About League1 BC

League1 BC is an adult open age Pro-Am Soccer League operated by Canadian Soccer Business. Established in 2021, the league serves as a stepping stone between the high-performance youth level, elite amateurs, and professional levels of the game. It is currently the highest level of competition on the women’s side in Canada. The league will engage communities across British Columbia, providing standard-based competition and training environments for female and male players, coaches, and match officials. League1 BC serves as a key platform of development into further opportunities within the game.
