Participants will become masters of the ball as they enhance their individual skill and physical literacy with fun, engaging activities and small-sided games. U6-U9 Accelerate will involve an additional weekly training session run by BFC Staff Coaches.

The structured sessions ensure that each player receives personalized attention while also participating in group exercises that emphasize teamwork and communication. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, the camp’s flexible approach allows for growth at every level.

Strength & Conditioning
Burnaby FC S&C program promotes player–centered specialized training in a healthy and inclusive environment for all Divisional players (U13 to U21) who want to improve their soccer fitness.
This strength and conditioning program is designed to enhance soccer players’ performance, injury prevention, and overall athletic development. It includes speed, agility, quickness, strength, endurance, and plyometric explosiveness. The program is broken into three phases: Pre-season, In-season, and Off-season, with each phase tailored to ensure players peak during competition, maintain conditioning in-season, and recover and improve in the off-season. Sessions have been condensed to 1–2 per week to fit with the team’s schedule.
FUTSAL
Burnaby FC offers a Futsal program during the winter months when field conditions are questionable. Our intention at BFC is to expand this program to girls and boys at various age groups.
Futsal is a fast-paced version of soccer played with a weighted ball on a hard wood floor with 4 players and a goalkeeper.
Our staff have been taught and take great pride in encouraging, motivating, and supporting our young athletes as they develop through the program. The Futsal program is predominantly made up of small-sided games following a warm-up with the ball. Its primary focus is on individual ball manipulation to help players in 1v1 situations.
Futsal is a fast-paced, high-action version of soccer played on a solid surface (court/gym/concrete) with 4 players and a goalkeeper.
Futsal provides an opportunity to work on key skills transferable to outdoor soccer: developing close ball control and quick decision-making. Our experienced professional coaches will provide game-based learning in a fun and challenging environment. Plus, it all happens indoors during rainier times of the year!
Sessions start with a technical warm-up with the ball, from there players get straight into Futsal games.
Schools Program
The focus of the program is on creating a positive, fun-based environment where students not only learn soccer skills but also experience the joy and camaraderie that the game fosters. The involvement of BFC Senior High School Players allows for positive mentorship, offering guidance and inspiration as these role models connect with younger participants.
By incorporating physical activity into the school day, the program promotes exercise and encourages students to lead a healthier lifestyle. The skills developed on the field, such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, translate to life lessons that help build character and confidence.
Burnaby FC is already partnered with seven schools in the Burnaby area, and we are continuously looking for additional schools that would like to join our growing network. Whether through after-school sessions or in-school activities, our programs are adaptable to meet the needs of each school community.
If your school is interested in participating or learning more about how Burnaby FC School Programs can positively impact your students, we invite you to reach out and discover the benefits of fostering a love for soccer in a supportive and energetic environment. Let’s work together to inspire the next generation of athletes!
