Burnaby, BC (September 13, 2023) –Burnaby FC today announces that the Vancouver Warriors of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) will serve as the shirt sponsor this season for the organization’s House (U8-U10) and Divisional (U11-U18) programs.
BurnabyFC celebrates their house and divisional jersey sponsor alongside the Vancouver Warriors, recognizing lacrosse as our country’s oldest sport.
Considered cousins of sport, both soccer and lacrosse emphasize sports where the size of the playing area and the number of players may vary, yet the concept of using a field as the stage, goalkeeper and ball is consistent.
BFC approached the Canuck Sports and Entertainment, which owns the Vancouver Warriors lacrosse club, with a request to help support its programming and specifically its stated objective to provide inclusivity regardless of financial circumstances.
CSE responded quickly, emphasizing youth and development are at the forefront of the organization’s core values. Most notably, CSE communicated their desire to partner with an organization like BFC whose foundation revolves around welcoming all players, irrespective of their financial circumstances.
“It’s unique to have a soccer jersey sponsored by another sport team and we are very grateful to CSEG for their significant contribution to support our players and Club,” said Morgan Quarry Executive Director.
