Navigating Burnaby FC Soccer Registration – A Helpful Guide for Parents and Players 

This guide has been created to clarify playing level options available for our players and to guide parents in the registration process. 

 

Mini-Soccer:  Players aged U5-U10 (Birth years 2019 – 2014)

*One with One: U5 only: Introduction to soccer through a series of adventures where each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This person becomes the child’s first teammate building confidence and removing intimidation. A first taste of the beautiful game. 

 

*U6-U7: Beginning and returning players, physical literacy, and fun with the ball. 

*U8-10 House: A program for beginning players, returning players and players new to Burnaby FC. Part of the golden age of learning, curriculums follow the most up to date sport science backed designs which are age appropriate for players at all levels. 

 

  • Registration is open, and please register as soon as possible. There are no levels or placement options; after registering, all players are assigned to teams by the club. 
  • Players will be advised of team placement as soon as teams are formed in August.  

 

Divisional Soccer: 

Super 8 & Super 9: Players aged U11-U13 (Birth-years 2013, 2012, 2011). There are multiple levels of play, and some of the levels require player evaluations to establish team rosters (Select). Evaluations are either in person via tryout or by continuous evaluation by our Technical Directors – Lee and Kevin, and our Club Coaching Staff. Players seeking to play with a select level team may attend or have already attended a tryout process to establish team rosters.  

 

U11-U13 Division 3: 

  • There are no levels or placement options, after registering all players are assigned to teams by the club. Some team rosters may be retained from founding clubs. If warranted, players will be encouraged to play at a higher level by the club. 
  • Should I register now for Division 3?  
  • Yes, registration is open and please register as soon as possible. 
  • If you are new to the club and are not sure which level to register for, please go ahead and register for Division 3 / Division 2. 
  • Players will be advised of team placement as soon as teams are formed (probably in June).  

 

U11-U13 Division 2 & Division 1-B: 

  • This is a select level, but the fees are the same as Division 3. Players are assigned to teams at this level by the club. Some team rosters may be retained from founding clubs; however, these rosters usually consist of players who have been evaluated for or attended Division 1 tryouts but did not attain the Division 1-A level. Players may move up and or down from this level during the season based on assessment by Team Coaches and Technical Staff.
  • Should I register now for Division 2 & Division 1-B?  
  • If you are still involved in an evaluation/tryout process, please wait to register until the club or your coach has advised you to register. 
  • If you are new to the club and unsure which level to register for, please go ahead and register for Division 3 / Division 2.  
  • Players will be advised of team placement as soon as teams are formed (probably in May). 

 

U11-U13 Division 1: 

  • This is our High-Performance select level, and the higher fees reflect this. Players are assigned to teams at this level by the club. These rosters consist of players who have been evaluated for or attended Division 1 tryouts. Players may move up to or down from this level during the season based on assessment by Team Coaches and Technical Staff. 
  • Should I register now for Division 1?  
  • If you are still involved in an evaluation/tryout process, please wait to register until the club or your coach has advised you to register. 
  • Registrants must enter a code to register for Division 1. The club informs all Division 1 players of their placement, which includes the registration code. 
  • If you are new to the club and are not sure which level to register for, please go ahead and register for Division 3 / Division 2. You can always be moved to a higher level of play. 
  • Players will be advised of team placement as soon as teams are formed (April).  

 

Divisional Soccer: 

Full Sided U14 – U18: Players aged U14-U18 (Birth-years 2010 – 2016). There are multiple levels of play, and some of the levels require player evaluations to establish team rosters (Select). Evaluations are either in person via tryout or by continuous evaluation by our Technical Directors – Lee and Kevin, and our Club Coaching Staff. Players seeking to play with a select level team may attend or have already attended a tryout process to establish team rosters.  

 

U14-U18 Division 3:

U14-U18 Division 2: 

  • This is a select level, but the fees are the same as Division 3. Players are assigned to teams at this level by the club. Some Division 2 Team rosters may be retained from founding clubs; however, these rosters usually consist of players who have been evaluated for or attended Division 1 tryouts but did not attain the Division 1 level. Players may move up and or down from this level during the season based on assessment by Team Coaches and Technical Staff.

  • If you are still involved in an evaluation/tryout process, please wait to register until the club or your coach has advised you to register. 
  • If you are new to the club and unsure which level to register for, please go ahead and register for Division 3 / Division 2. 

 

U16-U18 Division 1: 

  • This is a quasi-select level, but the fees are the same as Division 2 & Division 3. Rosters consist of players from existing teams coming over from our founding clubs. New players may also be added to those rosters. Players may move up and or down from this level during the season based on an assessment by Team Coaches and Technical Staff. 
  • Should I register now for U16-U18 Division 1?  
  • If you are still involved in an evaluation/tryout process, please wait to register until the club or your coach has advised you to register. 
  • If you are new to the club and unsure which level to register for, please go ahead and register for Division 3 / Division 2. 

 

U14-U15 Division 1 & U16-U18 Metro: 

  • This is our select level, and the higher fees reflect this. Players are assigned to teams at this level by the club. These rosters consist of players who have been evaluated for or attended Division 1 or Metro tryouts. Players may move up or down from this level during the season based on an assessment by Team Coaches and Technical Staff. 
  • Should I register now for Division 1 & Metro?  
  • If you are still involved in an evaluation/tryout process, please wait to register until the club or your coach has advised you to register. 
  • Registrants must enter a code to register for Division 1 & Metro. The club informs all Division 1 & Metro players of their placement which includes the registration code. 
  • If you are new to the club and are not involved in our evaluation process, please go ahead, and register for Division 3 / Division 2. You can always be moved to a higher level of play.

 

U14-U18 BCSPL: 

  • This is our Highest-Performance level. Players are assigned to teams at this level by the club. These rosters consist of players who have been evaluated for or attended BCSPL tryouts.  
  • Should I register now for BCSPL?  
  • Registration for BCSPL is currently closed. Interested players will be advised of the process to register. 

 

Adult Soccer: Male and Female teams play in both competitive and divisional play. 

  • Should I register now for adult? 
  • Yes, registration is open, and please register as soon as possible.
