Our FOUNDATIONS program is for players of all levels. The program is led by BFC Staff Coaches and support by Club (volunteer) Coaches. We offer three options, Foundations, Accelerate and Accelerate+. The season will start for all players in this program on Saturday, September 12th at the 4th Annual BFC Kickoff Jamboree at Burnaby Lake West. FOUNDATIONS U6-U9
The BFC Foundations program is our entry-level pathway for young players ready for a structured playing environment. This phase is built entirely around providing a positive experience and the opportunity for development at an introductory level. For U6 and U7, the program includes one BFC Staff Coach-led training session and one game per week, led by BFC Club Staff. For U8 and U9, one Club (Volunteer) Coach-led session and one game a week. See Accelerate and Accelerate+ options for additional sessions.
In alignment with our DNA, players are encouraged to explore their skills and build confidence on the ball. Our focus is on fostering enjoyment and self-expression, ensuring a welcoming setting where every participant can enjoy their initial steps in the game.
The season starts with the 4th Annual Kickoff Jamboree at BLW on Saturday, September 12th and wraps up with the end of season Festival in March.

BFC uses a two-year kit policy and 2026-2027 is the second year.
Returning players will receive new socks for the 2026-2027 season.
New BFC players will receive full kit with their registration.

*Those who choose to volunteer will receive a $50 credit upon completion of volunteering for the Club during the 2026-2027 season. Volunteering can include coaching, managing and/or helping a minimum of 10 hours at BFC Events including tournaments, BCPL (League1), Jamborees, Photo Day etc.
Fees are valid until May 15 as an Early Discount. All fees after May 15 will have a $50 increase. Burnaby FC is fully committed to making every effort to provide a roster spot for those who register. However, the Club cannot guarantee roster spots as there are many factors that could affect team viability. Members are strongly encouraged to register prior to July 1 as that is when teams will be finalized to meet league deadline requirements. If unable to provide a spot, members will be notified as soon as possible and issued a full refund.
If you require financial assistance (Path2Play), you will need to complete your registration to guarantee your spot.
If you are new player with BFC or did not play in the 2025-2026 Fall/Winter Season or Spring 2026, there is $30 kit fee.

At the heart of this phase is our BFC identity, focusing on developing adaptable, creative playmakers in alignment with our BFC Global Player profile. The program focuses on providing a high-quality setting for players to explore their skills and build confidence on the ball.
While we support the development of core technical tools and an understanding of the principles of play, we prioritize a positive, welcoming environment that encourages self-expression. By embedding our Playmaker DNA into every session, we ensure every participant gains the tools and creativity they need to pursue the game at the level they wish, all while fostering a lifelong love for the ball.
Accelerate+ (available for U8 and U9 only) is built for young players with a passion for the game who are ready for a structured environment. The Accelerate+ program provides a dedicated development program for U8 and U9 players who have a passion for the game. This program is built for those ready to dive deeper into the BFC DNA, offering up to three sessions per week for players who want more time on the ball. The third session takes place at our Development Centre (DC), which focuses on building individual skills and giving players more tools to set them up for long-term success.
We believe in creating a positive, supportive environment where players can develop. At this age, our goal is to provide players with the tools they need to pursue the game at the level they wish, fostering great habits and a lifelong love for the ball.
