Recognizing the unique variables of this stage of development, the Evolution program is designed for just that – evolution. Grounded in current research and building on the Burnaby FC Global Player profile, this program provides an environment for players to develop individually, deepen their understanding of systems of play within a team structure, and build the physical, psychological and social skills necessary to prepare for the 11-aside game. Whether a player wishes to play recreationally or has the goal of competing at the professional or national level, Burnaby FC is committed to providing a program to meet the needs of ALL who wish to participate.
Evolution U10 (2017)
Led by BFC Staff Coaches, BFC Evolution represents the critical next stage in the player’s technical development. This program is designed for beginners, returning players, and those new to BFC who are ready for an increased level of commitment. With two sessions per week, this phase bridges the gap between initial discovery and a high-quality, curriculum-driven environment.
BFC Evolution focuses on developing key football concepts consistent with the BFC Technical Plan to align with the BFC Global Player and BFC Game Model. Utilizing the 4-Corner Development model, we provide an environment that challenges players to mature their game, evolving their technical competencies and tactical understanding in preparation for the next stage of their BFC journey.
The season starts with the 4th Annual Kickoff Jamboree at BLW on Saturday, September 12th and wraps up with the end of season Festival in March.
