Burnaby FC Development Centre: Curriculum

Foundations U8-U9 (2016 – 2017 born)

Our youngest age groups will be getting the highest number of touches possible.

Whether they are dribbling, evading or shooting, we want the players to work towards being very confident with the ball at their feet.

BFC coaches encourage players to play without fear and to be brave in all aspects of their game.

  • Dribbling / Running With the Ball (Understanding how to love working with the ball)
  • Turning / Evasion / Change of Pace (Confidence and bravery with the ball)
  • 1v1 Attacking and Defending (The “what”, the “why”, and the “how” to succeed)
  • Passing and Receiving Techniques (Using both feet equally, positive first touch)

Ultimately, working together to defend, possess and finish is the goal.
