Burnaby FC today announced its Development Centre program consistent with Canada Soccer’s Youth License Holder requirements. The program in its inaugural year will focus on U8-U13 (2016-2011) with an aim to expand the program year by year to eventually cover all age levels.
The program is scheduled to start the week of September 11 and run over 10 weeks. To provide players with as many opportunities as possible, the DC training session will be offered up to twice per week/per age level, with parents given the choice to register their child for one or two sessions a week. No sessions will be held over Thanksgiving or Remembrance Day weekends or holidays.
BFC’s Development Centre is overseen by TDs Lee Tregonning and Kevin Julian and is coordinated by Adam Hayne (Senior Staff Coach- HP Boys) along with fellow Senior Staff Coaches Kat Tomic (Girls – HP), Nico Echeverria (Boys) and Kim Bull (Girls).
The Burnaby FC Nationally Licensed Player Development Centre is for all players wishing to improve their soccer skills and progress to the higher levels. Our Development Centre will consist of Nationally Certified Burnaby FC coaches, following CSA and BCSA guidelines and recommendations using current sport science-backed program design, including the LTPD (Long-Term Player Development) and Player Pathway. Our player-centred programming emphasizes the development of each individual player, to reach their full potential in a fun and challenging environment. Players are continually assessed and provided feedback on their ongoing development, including potential BFC High-Performance placement
The Development Centre training sessions for U10-U13 (2014-2011 born) will be held at Burnaby Lake West, Burnaby North and Burnaby Central turf fields. The U8 (2016) and U9 (2015) sessions will be held indoors at Scotia Barn (Burnaby 8 rinks).
Burnaby FC welcomes players from outside the Club and ask them to submit a non-BFC player registration form.
