Burnaby, BC (June 21, 2023) – Burnaby FC today announced the hiring of Adam Hayne as Senior Staff Coach – Boys High Performance and Nico Echeverria as Senior Staff Coach – Boys.
Hayne, originally from England, arrived in Canada in April 2019. Before joining Burnaby FC, Hayne was with Mountain United as Assistant Technical Director and Academy Director. Previously, Adam has played and coached in England, the United States, Hong Kong, Norway, New Zealand, and France in various coaching and management roles. He holds the CSA Children’s Licence, is working towards his Youth Licence, and has the New Zealand ‘B’ Coaching License, England FA Level 2, FA Youth Modules (1, 2 and 3) and Mental Health Commission of Canada – Certified Mental Health First Aid – Concussion Awareness.
“Adam and Nico have seamlessly integrated into the objectives and culture at BFC, each possessing a deep level of player development at the highest levels. We consider ourselves fortunate to have them on board and eagerly anticipate witnessing their contribution in elevating the club to an unparallel standard,” stated club TDs Lee Tregonning and Kevin Julian.
Born in Chile, Echeverria began loving soccer at a very early age. He began playing in elementary school and continued until his university years. Echeverria has coached soccer and taught sports for over 20 years in Chile, New Zealand, and Canada. He has broad experience working in different roles, such as Director of Sports Academies, Head Coach, Sports Coordinator, Physical Conditioning Coach, Sports Consultant, Coaches’ Educator, Researcher and PE Teacher of different organizations.
“I am eager to extend the delight and enthusiasm for soccer throughout Burnaby while crafting unforgettable experiences for the local community associated with soccer,” said Echeverria.
Echeverria also has two postgraduate diplomas, one in Sports Training with a major in physical conditioning and one in Sports Management and Marketing. He has a BA in Education and possesses two Master´s Degrees, one in Sports Training (Chile) and the other in High Performance for Team Sports (Spain). He also holds a Pro Soccer License from the Chilean Soccer Federation, Youth License from Canada Soccer, Children’s License from Canada Soccer and C License from Canada Soccer as well as a Technical Director Diploma from BC Soccer. He is also a BC Soccer Learning Facilitator and joins Burnaby FC after acting as Staff Coach – Boys with CAUFC since April 2019.
